Esercizi sui Limiti
Concetti Chiave

Definizione di Limite:
Il limite di una funzione f(x) quando x si avvicina a un valore c è il valore che f(x) tende a raggiungere quando x si avvicina a c. Si scrive come:\lim_{x \to c} f(x) = L
-
Limiti Laterali:
-
Limiti Infiniti:
Se f(x) cresce senza limiti quando x si avvicina a c, si scrive:\lim_{x \to c} f(x) = \infty
-
Limiti all'Infinito:
Si considera il comportamento di f(x) quando x tende a \infty o -\infty:\lim_{x \to \infty} f(x) = L
-
Regole di Calcolo dei Limiti:
- Somma: \lim_{x \to c} (f(x) + g(x)) = \lim_{x \to c} f(x) + \lim_{x \to c} g(x)
- Prodotto: \lim_{x \to c} (f(x) \cdot g(x)) = \lim_{x \to c} f(x) \cdot \lim_{x \to c} g(x)
- Quoziente: \lim_{x \to c} \frac{f(x)}{g(x)} = \frac{\lim_{x \to c} f(x)}{\lim_{x \to c} g(x)} (se \lim_{x \to c} g(x) \neq 0)
Esercizi
Esercizio 1: Calcolare un Limite Semplice
Problema: Calcola il limite \lim_{x \to 2} (3x + 1).
Soluzione:
- Sostituisci x con 2:
\lim_{x \to 2} (3x + 1) = 3(2) + 1 = 6 + 1 = 7
Esercizio 2: Limite con Indeterminatezza
Problema: Calcola il limite \lim_{x \to 1} \frac{x^2 - 1}{x - 1}.
Soluzione:
- Sostituisci x con 1:
\frac{1^2 - 1}{1 - 1} = \frac{0}{0} \quad \text{(indeterminatezza)}
- Fattorizza il numeratore:
\frac{(x - 1)(x + 1)}{x - 1}
- Cancella il termine comune:
\lim_{x \to 1} (x + 1) = 1 + 1 = 2

Key Concepts
- Definition of Limit:
The limit of a function f(x) as x approaches a value c is the value that f(x) tends to reach as x approaches c. It is written as:
\lim_{x \to c} f(x) = L
- Lateral Limits:
- Left Limit: \lim_{x \to c^-} f(x) is the limit of f(x) as x approaches c from the left.
- Right Limit: \lim_{x \to c^+} f(x) is the limit of f(x) as x approaches c from the right.
- A limit exists if the lateral limits are equal.
- Infinite Limits:
If f(x) grows without bound as x approaches c, we write:
\lim_{x \to c} f(x) = \infty
- Limits at Infinity:
We consider the behavior of f(x) when x tends to \infty or -\infty:
\lim_{x \to \infty} f(x) = L
- Rules of Calculation of Limits:
- Sum: \lim_{x \to c} (f(x) + g(x)) = \lim_{x \to c} f(x) + \lim_{x \to c} g(x)
- Product: \lim_{x \to c} (f(x) \cdot g(x)) = \lim_{x \to c} f(x) \cdot \lim_{x \to c} g(x) - Quotient: \lim_{x \to c} \frac{f(x)}{g(x)} = \frac{\lim_{x \to c} f(x)}{\lim_{x \to c} g(x)} (if \lim_{x \to c} g(x) \neq 0) ## Exercises ### Exercise 1: Cal cast a Simple Limit Problem: Compute the limit \lim_{x \to 2} (3x + 1).
Solution:
- Replace x with 2:
\lim_{x \to 2} (3x + 1) = 3(2) + 1 = 6 + 1 = 7
Exercise 2: Limit with Indeterminacy
Problem: Calculate the limit \lim_{x \to 1} \frac{x^2 - 1}{x - 1}.
Solution:
- Replace x with 1:
\frac{1^2 - 1}{1 - 1} = \frac{0}{0} \quad \text{(indeterminacy)}
- Factor the numerator:
\frac{(x - 1)(x + 1)}{x - 1}
- Delete the common term:
\lim_{x \to 1} (x + 1) = 1 + 1 = 2
