Esercizi su Acidi e Basi
Introduzione
- HCl
- NaOH
- H₂O
- CH₃COOH (acido acetico)
- NH₃ (ammoniaca)
Risposta:
- HCl - Acido
- NaOH - Base
- H₂O - Neutro
- CH₃COOH - Acido
- NH₃ - Base
Esercizio 2: pH delle Soluzioni
Domanda: Calcola il pH delle seguenti soluzioni:
- Soluzione di HCl 0.01 M
- Soluzione di NaOH 0.01 M
Formula:
- Per gli acidi: \text{pH} = -\log[\text{H}^+]
- Per le basi: \text{pOH} = -\log[\text{OH}^-] e \text{pH} = 14 - \text{pOH}
Risposta:
-
HCl 0.01 M:
- \text{pH} = -\log(0.01) = 2
-
NaOH 0.01 M:
- \text{pOH} = -\log(0.01) = 2
- \text{pH} = 14 - 2 = 12
Esercizio 3: Reazioni Acido-Base
Domanda: Scrivi l'equazione chimica per la reazione tra HCl e NaOH.
Risposta:
\text{HCl} + \text{NaOH} \rightarrow \text{NaCl} + \text{H}_2\text{O}
Esercizio 4: Indicatori di pH
Domanda: Quali indicatori di pH possono essere utilizzati per determinare se una soluzione è acida o basica? Fai un elenco di almeno tre indicatori e il loro intervallo di pH.
Risposta:
- Litmus: Rosso in ambiente acido (pH < 7), blu in ambiente basico (pH > 7).
- Fenolftaleina: Incolore in ambiente acido (pH < 8.2), rosa in ambiente basico (pH > 8.2).
- Cromotemi: Rosso in ambiente acido (pH < 4.5), giallo in ambiente neutro e basico (pH > 4.5).

Acids and Bases Exercises
Introduction
Acids and bases are chemical substances that have opposite properties. Acids tend to donate protons (H⁺) while bases tend to accept them. The Brønsted-Lowry theory is one of the most common to define acids and bases.
Exercise 1: Identifying Acids and Bases
Question: Identify whether the following substances are acids, bases, or neutral:
- HCl
- NaOH
- H₂O
- CH₃COOH (acetic acid)
- NH₃ (ammonia)
Answer:
- HCl - Acid
- NaOH - Base
- H₂O - Neutral
- CH₃COOH - Acid
- NH₃ - Base
Exercise 2: pH of Solutions
Question: Calculate the pH of the following solutions:
- 0.01 M HCl solution
- 0.01 M NaOH solution
Formula:
- For acids: \text{pH} = -\log[\text{H}^+]
- For bases: \text{pOH} = -\log[\text{OH}^-] and \text{pH} = 14 - \text{pOH}
Answer:
- HCl 0.01 M:
- \text{pH} = -\log(0.01) = 2
- NaOH 0.01 M:
- \text{pOH} = -\log(0.01) = 2
- \text{pH} = 14 - 2 = 12
Exercise 3: Acid-Base Reactions
Question: Write the chemical equation for the reaction between HCl and NaOH.
Answer:
\text{HCl} + \text{NaOH} \rightarrow \text{NaCl} + \text{H}_2\text{O}
Exercise 4: pH Indicators
Question: What pH indicators can be used to determine whether a solution is acidic or basic? Make a list of at least three indicators and their pH range.
Answer:
- Litmus: Red in acidic environment (pH < 7), blue in basic environment (pH > 7).
- Phenolphthalein: Colorless in acidic environment (pH < 8.2), pink in basic environment (pH > 8.2).
- Chromothems: Red in acidic environment (pH < 4.5), yellow in neutral and basic environment (pH > 4.5).
