Quali sono i problemi di Amazon?

Amazon, come già accennato, raccoglie i dati degli utenti per due principali motivi:

• profilazione dell'utente = quindi i dati vengono raccolti per personalizzate sia le pubblicità che vede l'utente sia i prodotti che gli vengono suggeriti
• vendita dei dati = una parte dei dati viene venduta ad inserzionisti per la pubblicità mirata

Il problema alexa

Alexa è un'assistente vocale creato da Amazon, i suoi problemi principali sono:

• registrare tutte le conversazioni che vengono effettuate tra l'utente e alexa, la vendita delle trascrizioni ad inserzionisti
• alexa ascolta anche le conversazioni che l'utente ha quando non interagisce con l'assistente stesso

Per ovviare questi problemi, la cosa migliore da fare è proprio quella di non usarli per niente.

Tuttavia, per evitare che alexa ascolti tutte le conversazioni, la si può spegnere e accendere solo all'occorrenza.

Il problema amazon

Il problema principale di amazon è l'abuso della sua posizione dominante, infatti è un monopolista che usa i suoi mezzi per manipolare il libero mercato. Il problema principale è rappresentato da amazon prime, che per un venditore di terze parti è diventato praticamente obbligatorio, perchè:

• i venditori che usano amazon prime possono usufruire della sua logistica (quindi spedizione in un giorno, spedizione in punti di ritiro ecc.) a danno di chi non li usa
• i venditori che hanno prime possono vendere più facilmente, in quanto amazon mette in una posizione migliore tutti i venditori che usano il suo servizio
• durante le varie occasioni commerciali, come amazon prime o cyber monday, i venditori che possiedono amazon prime sono molto più avvantaggiati degli altri, per molti motivi tra cui una migliore visibilità e una migliore posizione durante le ricerche

Inoltre, amazon va a manipolare il mercato in quanto ha un doppio ruolo, di operatore sul mercato e di commerciante sul mercato. Come operatore, amazon definisce le regole (praticamente sempre a favore dei suoi prodotti), controllando i marchi e i prezzi di tutti i venditori presenti sul mercato. Mentre come commerciante, va a profilare e a raccogliere dati sugli altri venditori, per tracciare i loro clienti, la quantità di merce acquistata potendo in questo modo offrire i propri prodotti con il proprio marchio agli stessi clienti, a prezzi più bassi.

Infine, amazon è molto truffaldino, in quanto inizialmente ha prezzi bassi o nulli, per abbattere la concorrenza, e una volta abbattuta aumentare sistematicamente i prezzi. Oltre a questo, tra le varie scorrettezze di amazon ci sono le modifiche unilaterali del contratto, ne è un esempio il caso di amazon prime per i video. Infatti, su amazon prime, nonostante inizialmente non ci fosse la pubblicità nonostante prime sia a pagamento, ora è stato forzatamente inclusa ma il servizio continua a rimanere a pagamento.
